Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to news that Apple pledged to invest over $500 billion in the United States over the next four years.

This move follows a recent Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

The investment is expected to lead to the hiring of around 20,000 new employees in high-paying roles. Apple’s expansion will not be limited to a single state though, as the company plans to grow its teams across Arizona, California, Iowa, Nevada, North Carolina, Michigan, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

“Apple’s historic investment is a testament to the strength of the American economy under President Trump’s leadership,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “This commitment will create thousands of jobs and drive innovation in communities across the country.”
