The Nassua County Police Department debunked in a statement Wednesday morning initial media reports that explosives were found at a Trump rally.

Former President Donald Trump is expected to host a rally at 7 p.m. ET at the Nassau Coliseum in New York just days after an assassination attempt against him in Florida.

“Reports that an explosive device was found at the Nassau Coliseum are FALSE,” NCPD said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The news comes just days after a failed assassination attempt against Trump, the second so far this year, raised more concerns about Trump’s safety.

Lawmakers have called for Trump to receive the same Secret Service protection afforded to President Joe Biden given the recent incidents.
